Light mode option on Academy
Oliver
I'd like a light mode option for HTB Academy. I feel like it would be a relatively quick thing to implement with a massive upside; I have never seen a website that forces a dark mode like this before, and using a third-party browser extension to force light mode simply does not work for a website with a high degree of complexity.
The bluish-grey text on blue background is hard to read, especially if reading during the day and not in pitch black darkness. I understand the "1337 h4X0r" vibe that you're going for, but let's face it, Burp Suite, MITRE, and a bunch of other tools are light mode by default. Not to mention, only offering dark mode is a massive accessibility/UX failure.
I don't mind if the academy is dark mode by default, but at least provide an option to change it to light mode.

Hey i just started using HTB so im not realy skilled in anything IT/coding related. but i do share your opinion in them not having a way to pick lightmode or atleast change the text colour..
I am however interested in what you made!

As this doesn't seem to be priority, I have written a CSS override myself. It isn't perfect, but I can at least read my screen during the day now. It fixes the dashboard, library, and lesson views. I note – with some interest – that despite paying over $1,000 per year for this, I have received no acknowledgement for what should be a default feature in three months.
To describe some of what it does:
* It approximates the default colour scheme used by Claude: off-white background and charcoal grey text.
* Banners, list elements, and certain UI elements are specifically targeted to change to a similar off-white background, but these may require periodic updating.
* Elements in the text which should be in bold, but instead are (by default) written in <code> HTML elements, have been corrected: the font family changed to neue-haas-unica,sans-serif in line with the existing fonts, colour changed to charcoal grey, and padding removed.
* Code blocks have a charcoal grey background and white text.
* Scroll bar and gutter corrected to light mode.
Anyone who comes by this, feel free to comment here and I can send it to you.
